Your Ergomotion adjustable base is engineered for durability, comfort, and reliability—but like any advanced piece of technology, proper use and care are essential to ensure peak performance and long-term value. This guide will help you avoid common mistakes that may lead to issues or void your warranty.
1. Use the Bed as Intended
Ergomotion bases are designed for residential use only. Using the base in commercial or high-traffic environments—such as in hotels, clinics, or care facilities—can result in accelerated wear or damage and will void the warranty.
Tip: Avoid repurposing or modifying the base for any non-standard use.
2. Respect the Weight Limit
Each base is engineered to support a maximum combined weight of 650-750 lbs depending on model, including the mattress and occupants. Exceeding this limit can damage internal components, particularly in the head and foot lift mechanisms.
Tip: Ensure that the mattress and bedding, combined with occupant weight, do not exceed this threshold. Distribute weight evenly across the base to avoid strain on specific areas.
3. Avoid Unauthorized Repairs or Modifications
Only technicians authorized by Ergomotion should service the base. Attempting DIY fixes or using third-party repair services without proper instructions from manufacturer may cause further damage and will void your warranty.
Tip: If you notice unusual noises, motor hesitation, or unresponsive controls, contact Ergomotion Customer Service for authorized support at 1-888-550-3746.
4. Protect Electronics and Power Components
Power surges, improper voltage, or damaged cords can cause serious issues with the bed's electronics.
Tip:
• Always plug the base into a surge protector.
• Avoid using extension cords.
• Regularly inspect power cords for fraying or wear.
• Keep all cords and control boxes dry and away from pinch points.
5. Follow the Owner’s Manual
Skipping setup steps or ignoring usage guidelines can lead to operational problems or even permanent damage.
Tip:
• Read the Owner’s Manual before first use.
• Follow instructions carefully for remote control pairing, USB use, and syncing features like massage or preset positions.
6. Don’t Block or Force Moving Parts
Trying to manually move the head or foot section—or blocking movement—can damage actuators and support structures.
Tip:
• Ensure nothing is under the base before adjusting positions.
• Never force the base into a position it won’t reach on its own.
7. Keep the Base Clean and Free of Debris
Dust, pet hair, or foreign objects can accumulate around moving components or electronics, potentially leading to malfunctions.
Tip:
• Wipe down the frame with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
• Keep the area under the base clean and clear.
• Avoid harsh cleaning chemicals.
8. Use Genuine Ergomotion Replacement Parts
Using parts not made or approved by Ergomotion can lead to compatibility issues and may compromise safety.
Tip:
• Order replacement parts directly through Ergomotion’s support team.
• Never substitute remote controls, motors, or power supplies with off-brand alternatives.
9. Keep Your Proof of Purchase
Warranty coverage requires proof of purchase. Without it, repairs or part replacements may not be covered.
Tip:
• Store your invoice or sales receipt in a safe place.
• Register your base at: https://warranty.ergomotion.com/warranty
10. Know When to Call Customer Service
Sometimes, early signs of trouble—such as slow response, error lights, or incomplete motion—can be resolved quickly with professional advice.
Tip:
• Don’t wait for the problem to worsen. Call Ergomotion Customer Service at 1-888-550-3746 or email info@ergomotion.com.
Final Thoughts
A little preventative care goes a long way in maintaining your Ergomotion adjustable base. By using it as intended, avoiding unauthorized modifications, and contacting support when needed, you’ll ensure a longer lifespan and full use of your warranty.
Ergomotion adjustable beds are designed for comfort, versatility, and long-term reliability—but like any powered furniture, safe usage is essential. Follow these key practices and safety features to reduce the risk of injury or damage to your bed.
Essential Safety Guidelines
Read the Manual First
Before use, always read and understand all safety warnings and setup instructions provided in your owner's manual.

Safe Operation: Do’s and Don’ts
✅ DO:
• Plug the base into a surge protector.
• Return to flat position after use.
• Evenly distribute weight on split setups.
• Clean with mild soap and water.
• Only enter or exit the bed while it’s flat.
❌ DON’T:
• Sit or jump on bed edges or corners.
• Tilt the base on its side or drag it.
• Enter/exit the bed while it’s articulated.
• Press down on the head/foot when actuated.
• Modify the base in any way.
Built-In Safety Features
• Child Safety Lock: Disables remote control to prevent accidental movement.
• Manual Operation: Bed lowers only by gravity to avoid downward pinching.
• Emergency Stop: Press any remote button to immediately halt movement.
• Battery Backup Strap: Enables bed adjustment during a power outage.
• Optional Locking Casters: Help prevent unwanted movement, though not a complete brake.
Installation and Use Considerations
• Only use Ergomotion beds indoors, not in hospital or commercial settings.
• Never use near explosive gases or oxygen therapy equipment.
• Always use two people to install the bed.
• Maximum weight limit is 650-750 lbs depending model (mattress + sleeper). Uneven or excessive weight may damage the motors or frame.
FCC Compliance
The adjustable base complies with FCC rules for electronic devices. If interference occurs with radio/TV signals, consider relocating or adjusting the receiver or outlet.
Final Tip
Register your warranty after setup. If any issues arise, do not force the bed down—call Ergomotion Customer Support at 1-888-550-3746 for assistance.
For detailed instructions and updates, consult your product’s official manual at:
👉
https://shop.ergomotion.com/pages/manuals-and-instructions
Ergomotion adjustable beds are engineered for strength and comfort, but like all mechanical systems, they have specific limits to ensure long-term durability and safety. Understanding weight restrictions and maintaining proper weight distribution is essential to protect your investment and ensure your warranty remains valid.
Maximum Weight Capacity
Each Ergomotion adjustable base is designed to support up to 650-750 lbs. depending on model in total. This includes:
• The mattress
• Bedding
• User(s)
⚠️ Exceeding this limit can:
• Damage motors or frame components
• Void the manufacturer warranty
• Lead to serious personal injury
Even Weight Distribution is Key
While the base can structurally support the full weight capacity, that load must be evenly distributed across the platform.
Uneven Distribution Can:
• Cause one side of a split base to lift or move improperly
• Place excessive strain on actuators or joints
• Lead to premature wear or malfunction
Tip: Avoid sitting or standing on one side or corner of the bed for prolonged periods—this can warp the frame or overload one motor.
Split Base Setup Considerations
If using a split king or split queen setup, each base operates independently. This means:
• Each side must remain within half of the total weight capacity
• Weight should be distributed evenly when both sides are in use
📌 If only one person is using the bed, center the mattress weight properly or flatten the bed between uses to avoid uneven stress.
Safe Entry and Exit Practices
Always enter and exit your bed when it is in the flat (horizontal) position. Avoid:
• Getting in or out when the head or foot is raised
• Sitting on edges or corners of the bed
• Using the frame as a step or seating surface
These habits reduce the risk of tipping, bending structural components, or damaging the motors.
Mattress Compatibility
Use only adjustable base-compatible mattresses. Non-compatible mattresses:
• May be too heavy
• Can resist articulation (bending), increasing stress on motors
• May shift weight unevenly across the frame
Look for mattresses labeled “adjustable-friendly” or consult your mattress retailer.
Final Tips for Weight Safety
✅ Do:
• Distribute weight evenly, especially in split setups
• Flatten the bed after each use
• Use two people for any lifting or moving
❌ Don’t:
• Overload the bed
• Sit or stand on edges or the head/foot ends
• Drag or tilt the bed on its side (this may bend legs or strip screws)
Preserve Your Warranty
Improper weight use is one of the fastest ways to void your electrical or structural warranty. Following these guidelines will help you:
• Extend the lifespan of your base
• Avoid costly repairs or parts replacements
• Stay within warranty coverage

Ergomotion adjustable beds are built for years of reliable performance—but like any mechanical product, they benefit from routine care. A few simple maintenance habits can help you avoid service issues, preserve comfort, and keep your warranty intact.
1. Always Return to Flat After Use
Leaving the bed in an elevated position strains the motors and hinges over time.
✅ Best Practice: Flatten the base after each use and between preset transitions.
2. Clean With Care
Use mild soap and water to clean the frame.
Avoid strong chemical cleaners or soaking any electronic components.
✅ Tip: Unplug the base before cleaning to reduce the risk of electric shock.
3. Inspect Cords and Connections

• Power cords are not pinched, frayed, or exposed to heat
• Cables are securely connected to the control box and motors
• The power supply box has an active green light
If the cord or plug is damaged or exposed to moisture, stop use immediately and call support.
4. Use a Surge Protector
Protect internal electronics from power surges or outages by plugging the base into a surge protector.
❌ Avoid plugging the bed directly into the wall without one.
5. Don't Force Any Movement
If the bed won’t move or flattens slowly, don’t push or force it down.
This can damage motors or the frame.
✅ Call Ergomotion Customer Service instead at 1-888-550-3746.
6. Keep It in a Safe Spot
When moving the bed:
• Never drag or tilt it on its side
• Use casters (locking wheels) if you move it regularly
• Move with at least two people to prevent bending the frame or breaking legs
7. Avoid Edge Pressure and Jumping
Don’t sit on the corners or jump on the bed—this can:
• Warp the frame or foam
• Loosen leg screws
• Misalign actuators
✅ Always enter and exit the bed in a flat position.
8. Engage the Child Safety Lock
When not in use, especially in homes with kids or pets, enable the Child Safety Lock to prevent unintentional motion or entrapment.
9. Register Your Warranty
As soon as your bed is delivered, register your warranty. This ensures smooth support service and parts coverage if anything goes wrong.
10. Replace Batteries and Check the Remote
• Use fresh AAA batteries in the remote every 6–12 months
• Store the remote in a safe place, away from liquids and children
• If the remote stops working, check batteries before assuming hardware failure

• Power loss
• Motor noise or failure
• Remote pairing issues

Insights on How to Use Massage Features Within Warranty Guidelines for Best Results and Longevity
Ergomotion adjustable beds are equipped with massage motors designed for comfort, recovery, and relaxation. To ensure optimal performance and extend their lifespan, it’s essential to follow best practices that also align with warranty guidelines.
1. Use Massage Features in Moderation
Limit sessions to 15–30 minutes at a time. Excessive continuous use can overheat the motor and may void the warranty if damage occurs due to misuse.
2. Avoid Running Motors When Base is Fully Flat
Using massage while the bed is in a fully flat position may cause additional strain on the motor assembly. Slightly elevate the head or foot for better motion distribution.
3. Keep Weight Evenly Distributed
Avoid sitting or standing directly over massage zones while they’re running. Concentrated weight can wear the motor faster and contribute to mechanical stress.
4. Maintain Proper Power Supply
Always use the original power supply unit. Power fluctuations or third-party adapters may affect motor performance and can be a cause for failure that's not covered by warranty.
5. Perform a Periodic Reset
Unplug the bed for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. This can recalibrate internal settings and ensure all features—including massage—run optimally.
6. Keep the Base Clean and Clear
Ensure no items or debris are under the base that may block the actuators or restrict motor movement.
7. Avoid Moisture Exposure
Massage components are electrical. Keep the area dry, and never use cleaning fluids or water near the motor zone.
8. Test Before Heavy Use
Before relying on massage after long disuse, test the function with a short session to ensure there’s no abnormal noise or delay.
For model-specific instructions, always refer to the correct owner’s manual from Ergomotion's Manual Page
How to Adjust Your Bed for Better Sleep, Comfort, and Condition-Specific Relief
Ergomotion adjustable beds are more than just a luxury—they are tools designed with ergonomic and health-conscious engineering. With customizable positions and features, users can adjust their beds to support a wide range of health needs. Below are key health conditions and how to adjust your Ergomotion base to help manage them.
1. Acid Reflux & GERD
Suggested Setting: Head Elevated 6–8 Inches
Raising the upper body helps prevent stomach acid from rising into the esophagus during sleep. Ergomotion beds allow fine control over head elevation to maintain comfort while reducing symptoms.
2. Sleep Apnea & Snoring
Suggested Setting: Head Elevated Slightly (Anti-Snore Preset)
Mild elevation of the head opens airways and improves breathing. Most Ergomotion remotes have an anti-snore button preset—use it nightly for respiratory support.
3. Lower Back Pain
Suggested Setting: Zero Gravity Position
This preset elevates both the legs and head to reduce pressure on the lumbar spine. The “ZGR” button found on many models like Quest 2.0 and 2.5 helps relieve compression and support spinal alignment.
4. Poor Circulation or Swollen Legs
Suggested Setting: Foot Elevated Above Heart Level
Elevating the legs helps return blood flow to the upper body and reduces swelling. Use the foot up control or a dedicated “Leg Elevate” preset if available.
5. Arthritis or Joint Pain
Suggested Setting: Custom Comfort Curve
Ergomotion beds let users micro-adjust both head and foot levels. Finding a supportive, slightly contoured position can relieve pressure from stiff joints.
6. Pregnancy (Second and Third Trimester)
Suggested Setting: Head and Knees Slightly Elevated
For comfort and reduced pressure on the lower back and hips, adjust to a mild incline with knees bent. This promotes better circulation and comfort while resting on the side.
Important Tips:
• Start Low: Gradually test elevation angles and save your favorite as a preset.
• Avoid Flat Sleeping: Most benefits come from minor elevation adjustments.
• Use Massage Sparingly: Light massage may improve circulation, but avoid prolonged use in sensitive areas.
• Consult a Physician: Always speak with your doctor before using elevation for medical issues.
Refer to your specific model’s manual to locate and set health-optimized presets:
Unlocking Hidden Benefits for Better Sleep and Everyday Comfort
Ergomotion adjustable beds offer much more than simple head and foot elevation. While many users rely on core functions, several lesser-known features can dramatically improve sleep quality, convenience, and relaxation. Here's how to get the most out of your bed.
1. Zero Gravity Mode
What it does: Mimics the posture of astronauts during launch—knees and head slightly elevated.
Why it matters: This position reduces pressure on the spine, improves circulation, and promotes muscle relaxation. Use the ZG or “Zero G” button to enable it instantly.
2. Massage with Timer Function
What it does: Offers head and foot massage with adjustable intensity, often with an automatic shut-off timer.
Why it matters: Use gentle vibrations before bed to help your body wind down. Setting a timer prevents overuse and supports warranty-compliant operation.
3. Under-Bed LED Lighting
What it does: Soft lighting beneath the bed for nighttime visibility.
Why it matters: Avoid harsh overhead lights during bathroom trips. This can reduce sleep disruption and the risk of falls.
4. Preset Memory Buttons
What it does: Save your favorite sleep or lounge position.
Why it matters: One-touch access to your perfect setting eliminates the need for nightly adjustments. Some models offer two or more memory slots.
5. Anti-Snore Position
What it does: Slight head elevation to reduce airway obstruction.
Why it matters: This feature is ideal for snorers or those with mild sleep apnea. A simple press of the anti-snore button (typically labeled “SN” or with a snoring icon) gently lifts the head to open airways.
6. USB Charging Ports
What it does: Built-in USB ports near the bed base for charging phones or tablets.
Why it matters: Keep devices close without needing an extra wall outlet or extension cord.
7. Voice Control & Bluetooth App (on select models)
What it does: Use voice commands or a mobile app to control your bed.
Why it matters: Adds convenience and remote access. Look for models like Quest 4.0 that offer voice puck accessories and smartphone integration.
Tips to Maximize These Features:
• Explore your remote manual to learn button functions—many are multifunctional.
• Pair with smart home devices where available for voice activation.
• Use features mindfully to avoid overuse, especially with massage motors (limited by warranty).
• Enable child lock on remotes if needed for safety.
Access your bed’s manual for a full feature breakdown here:
How to Diagnose and Fix Common Issues When Your Remote Stops Responding
The remote control is the key to unlocking all the comfort features of your Ergomotion adjustable bed. If your remote stops working or certain buttons aren’t responding, don’t worry—many issues are quick and easy to fix. Here’s a guide to help you troubleshoot like a pro.
1. Remote Doesn’t Light Up or Respond
Step 1: Check the Batteries
• Most Ergomotion remotes use 3 AAA batteries.

To check your specific base model's steps, use the official guide:
1. What is the One touch Zero G® ?
One touch Zero G® is a preset position where the head of the bed is raised by about 15° and the foot by about 35°, creating a comfortable recline of roughly 127°±7°. In this posture, your heart and knees are at the same level, helping distribute body pressure more evenly, relieve stress, and promote relaxation for better sleep.
2. Can I stay in One touch Zero G® all night?
We don't recommend sleeping in One touch Zero G® for the entire night. While it feels relaxing and can improve circulation in your legs, lying in this position for too long may put strain on your spine because the natural curve is reversed. For better spinal health, it's best to use this mode for shorter periods.
3. Can One touch Zero G® be combined with other presets?
One touch Zero G® cannot run together with other presets (such as Lounge Preset or flat position). However, it can be used together with features like
massage and anti-snore for extra comfort.
4. What functions can I use while in One touch Zero G®?
◦ Massage: Enjoy a gentle massage
for your back and legs.
◦ Anti-Snore: If snoring is detected
◦ Gentle Wake: If you set an alarm, the head will lift a little higher to wake you gently.
5. How long should I use One touch Zero G® at a time?
We suggest keeping each session under 1.5 hours. It's great for relaxation, but prolonged use may affect your spine's natural alignment.
6. Does the bed return to flat automatically after using One touch
Zero G®?
No. You'll need to switch it back manually using the app or remote.
7. Can I set a timer for One touch Zero G®?
No. It needs to be turned on and off manually.
8. Do I need to reset the bed when stopping One touch Zero G®?
Yes. After turning it off, you'll need to manually adjust the bed back to flat using the app or remote.
9. Why doesn't One touch Zero G® feel comfortable when I'm on my
side?
This mode is designed for back sleeping. If you lie on your side, the curvature may feel less comfortable.
10. How can I protect my spine when using One touch Zero G®?
◦ Stay on your back instead of side-lying.

This preset was inspired by NASA's zero-gravity posture and developed with input from Stanford's Sleep Lab. Benefits include:
◦ Scientific recline design: Head up ~15°, feet up ~35°, creating the golden 127° recline.
◦ Even pressure relief: Reduces pressure on your spine and organs.

Short sessions help relaxation and falling asleep, but long-term use may affect spinal alignment. For the best sleep, switch to flat once you're asleep.

It's perfect for winding down, reducing stress, or relaxing before bedtime. Each session is best kept under 1.5 hours. For overnight sleep, we recommend
switching back to flat.
1. What are the angles for the Lounge Preset?
In Lounge Preset, the head of the bed rises to about 40° and the foot to about 20°.
2. What does the Lounge Preset mean?
With one touch, the bed gently raises the head to 40° and the foot to 20°. This creates a comfortable seated posture that eases back pressure, relieves leg fatigue, and lets you relax while reading, resting, or enjoying entertainment.
3. Can I customize the Lounge Preset?

Not exactly. It's designed with ergonomics in mind:

Together, this helps protect your posture, reduces strain, and even supports healthier reading habits.
5. How do I restore the Lounge Preset to factory settings?
• Press and hold the One touch Zero G® and Flat buttons together.
• Keep holding until the indicator light on the remote stops flashing.
