Before You Fall Asleep
Before you go to bed, make sure to prepare your body for a great night’s sleep! Avoid all coffee, red wine, and chocolate to ensure your metabolism maintains a comfortable baseline. Use the toilet – no need to get up during the night. Engage in a calming activity, such as meditating or reading a book. And avoid eating or consuming liquids right before falling asleep.
During the Night
During the night, it’s imperative that you take steps to maintain uninterrupted sleep. Reduce all noise by closing your door or wearing earplugs. Keep the windows open for a steady flow of fresh air. And Keep the room at the “Goldilocks” temperature (not too hot, not too cold).
In the Morning
Start the day by drinking a glass of water immediately after waking – this will help spark your metabolism and get you moving! Have an activity or event to be excited about. This will help give you the motivation to get up and get going quickly. Participate in moderate exercise to increase blood flow and spark your endorphins. But most importantly, avoid hitting the “Snooze” button! Getting up immediately leads to more rest then several “snoozes” of the alarm.
